  1. This works great, I like the style :) But you should work more with the focus. Its a little hard to distinguish the character from the background. The background has to many details, and is to sharp. Since the character is the important element you should make it pop more out. You could do a gradient blur on the background, blurring out the horizon line more, and the building farthest away. Then reduce the saturation on the background the same way, less saturation farthest away, etc. Maybe even add some light contour lines around the entire characters. Since there seems to come some strong light from the sunny thing to the upper right, you should paint this light and its shadows into the character also, upper right side is light, lower left side has shadows. Adding some small backlighting between the background and the character is also a good way to make it stand out.
