Animation progress

in Game Demo Animation

The animations are coming along nicely. I have completed a few cycles(some tweaking is needed though), I have among others done a damage animation and dodge animation, and I’ve been experimenting with attack animations (Next week I will probably uppload a short movie instead of an image to display what I’ve done).

Animation back on track

in Game Demo Animation

The problem with animations not showing up in nebule has now been solved wich means I have been able to start animating again. A few minor issues remain but nothing that should put the project in danger. Unfortunatly I had to redo my run cycle(and idle cycle), altough the second time I did it I allready knew roughly how I wanted it, so it didn’t take to long to do.

animation progress

in Game Demo Animation

This week my animation work has had to take a backseat to make way for work on nebula. The animations still doesn’t work in nebula but is close to, however I fear I might have to redo the animations I have completed (run and idle) due to skeleton issues. Luckily,  in my schedule I had one week left empty in case of just such an ocasion. After discussing it with Fredrik we decided to change the lineup of animations to do, the animations will consist of run, jump down, attack, dodge, death, damaged. This list is significantly shorter than my initial list wich means my schedule opens up a bit. This time will either be spent on making multiple attack animations or more work on nebula

rigging and animation

in Game Demo Animation
http://gscept.com/projects/10/gAni/public/riggtest01.jpg

The character is rigged and I have begun animating her. I have almost finished her run cycle, some minor tweaking might be needed. The problem with animation in nebula still stands but is being looked into, it will hopefully be resolved in the near future. I hope I wont have to redo my animation to make it work in nebula, the future will tell.

rigging and nebula

in Game Demo Animation

I spent this week attempting to learn the animation system of nebula, and this is where I encountered my very first problem. It proved to be harder than expected, changes were made from previous versions and thus rendered my few tutorials and previous knowledge useless. This will hopefully be resolved early next week. I have also begun working on the character rig, as I received an early model from my group member Anna. It should be done early next week.

The first week

in Game Demo Animation

The first week of the project has gone by and I’m finished with my project plan and have done some preliminary tests and research for the rig I’m going to make for the character. I’m planning to complete the rig next week, hopefully along with my run animation.
