rigging and nebula

in Game Demo Animation

I spent this week attempting to learn the animation system of nebula, and this is where I encountered my very first problem. It proved to be harder than expected, changes were made from previous versions and thus rendered my few tutorials and previous knowledge useless. This will hopefully be resolved early next week. I have also begun working on the character rig, as I received an early model from my group member Anna. It should be done early next week.

Week one, research

in Game Demo AI Programming

Did a timeplan a few days ago, today I realized I need to change it. Fortunately I had an empty week in the end of the project I can use now =)
Finished the project plan and I think I know most of the stuff I need to know to be able to complete the project.
Set up a project in nebula 2.5 and loaded a few objects to test the performance to avoid the massive fps problem we had in the Noah project. We need to do a little more testing but we are beginning to see where the limit is.

The first week

in Game Demo Animation

The first week of the project has gone by and I’m finished with my project plan and have done some preliminary tests and research for the rig I’m going to make for the character. I’m planning to complete the rig next week, hopefully along with my run animation.

First week

in Game Demo Environment Design

First week of the project is over. I have completed the first version of my project plan, done some research and started some basic planning of the level.

This week I will be doing a lot of tests in nebula to see what is possible to do and what’s not.

Concept stage complete

in Game Demo Character Modeling

Here is the concept I’ve been working on last week, it’s not perfect but since the design is a minor part of this project I think that’s fine, I want to focus as much of my time as possible on modeling and texturing. I will use this picture as an inspiration for my model and although the result should look like the concept there might be some slight changes regarding color or other minor details.
