Summer Course, 15.0 Credits
This course is based on a course offered at the Florence Academy of Art and is only one of two Écorché courses in Europe. Écorché is a French word and means ‘without skin.’ During the 1800’s French academics studied Écorché in order to learn about the body’s movement, function, and form.
The course is divided into two parts. The first part is Écorché or the study of human anatomy. The second part is free sculpture where the students work with their own artistic ideas.
The deadline for this course is the 15th of March. Besides the normal university requirements, the student must have taken courses in artistic training, art, drawing, or form/sculpture at a university level.
