Graphics Programming Basics 7.5 Credits

This course introduces the basics of graphics programming. Topics covered include basic structures in the rendering pipeline, real-time lighting and shading of objects and materials, usage of GPU for accelerated rendering. Techniques used include API-er, OpenGL and Direct3D. Target group: Computer science students and professional software developers with basic knowledge in computer graphics and real-time rendering that want to deepen their knowledge in the field.

Advanced Graphics Programming 7.5 Credits

This course discusses advanced concepts of computer graphics programming. The focus will be on subjects like advanced rendering algorithms and use of shaders. Other topics, including global illumination and optimization techniques will be covered as well. Technologies used will include APIs such as OpenGL and Direct3D. Target group: Computer science students and professional software developers with basic knowledge in computer graphics and real-time rendering that want to deepen their knowledge in the field.

Game Physics 7.5 Credits

This course will give an overview of physics based algorithms in video games and simulations. Basic concepts of kinematics, forces, collision detection and responses, rigid bodies and particle systems are discussed and their application in a real-time system like games. Target group: Computer science students and professional software developers that want to expand their knowledge in the field.

Computer Game Production 7.5 Credits

This course aims to give students knowledge into the field of computer game production. Students will learn about the various stages of production, internal and external dependencies and deliveries. The course includes planning and budgeting for a small game project and the associated project documentation.

Computer Game AI 7.5 Credits

This course gives fundamental insights into the field of artificial intelligence with a focus on video games. Different methods and their applications in this context are explained and analyzed. Students will be armed with tools needed to create some sophisticated behaviors. This course will give people that are new to AI in game programming a quick start, which you can build on with more advanced AI courses. Target group: Computer science students and professional software developers that want to expand their knowledge in the field.

Game Design 7.5 Credits

This course discusses the fundamentals for creating good game play. Among the topics covered includes game history, game structure and game design techniques.
